In the day of judgment, we will stand before our Heavenly Father and Messiah, so we want to be sure that our life lines up with His holy Word, “For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.“ Romans 14:10
The Popes proclaim to represent Jesus, so their words should align with the teaching of Messiah, as Messiah is the Word of God who became flesh, to come to atone for our sins as the Spotless Lamb.

God proclaims that every man and woman has sinned; that includes me, you, the twelve Apostles, Jesus’ mother Mary, and the Pope.
Pope John Paul II said, “The truth of the Assumption, defined by Pius XII, is reaffirmed by the Second Vatican Council, which thus expresses the Church’s faith: “Preserved free from all guilt of original sin, the Immaculate Virgin was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory upon the completion of her earthly sojourn. She was exalted by the Lord as Queen of the Universe…For the Mother of Christ is glorified as ‘Queen of the Universe‘.” 1
The Bible says, “For all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
God proclaims that there is only One who had no sin, His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus.
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:15
God offered His Beloved Son as a sacrifice for our sins, that we might have His righteousness.
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
God proclaims that salvation is only through His beloved Son; not through Mary or the Pope.
Pope Pius XI said, “What will it cost you, oh Mary, to hear our prayer? What will it cost you to save us? Has not Jesus placed in your hands all the treasures of His grace and mercy? You sit crowned Queen at the right hand of your son: your dominion reaches as far as the heavens and to you are subject the earth and all creatures dwelling thereon. Your dominion reaches even down into the abyss of hell, and you alone, oh Mary, save us from the hands of Satan.” 2
The Bible says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
Should we pray to Mary?
God proclaims that salvation cannot be found any other way.
Pius IX said, “God has committed to the Blessed Virgin Mary the treasury of all good things in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace and all salvation.” 3
Pope Pius XII said, “…recognize the Holy, Catholic, Roman Church to be the only true Church of Jesus Christ, outside of which neither sanctity nor salvation can be found. Call them to the unity of the one fold, granting them the grace to believe every truth of our holy faith and to submit themselves to the Supreme Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Jesus Christ on earth.” 4
The Bible says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
God proclaims that salvation is by faith in Christ, not by works.
The Roman Catholic Church declared at the Council of Trent (Canon 9), “If anyone says that the sinner is justified by faith alone, meaning that nothing else is required to cooperate in order to obtain the grace of justification, and that it is not in any way necessary that he be prepared and disposed by the action of his own will, let him be anathema (damned to hell).”
The Bible says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
God proclaims that there is only one Mediator between man and Him, the Lord Christ Jesus; not Mary or the Pope.
Pope Leo XIII said, “O Holy Mother of God; to thee we lift our prayers for thou, powerful and merciful, art the Mediatrix of our salvation.” 5
“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all.” 1 Timothy 2:5-6
The Bible says that Jesus is our Advocate and never says that Mary fills this role.
Pope Leo XIII said, “With equal truth it may be said that of the great treasury of all graces given to us by Our Lord—for grace and truth came by Jesus Christ—nothing comes to us except through Mary’s mediation, for such is God’s Will. Thus, as no man goes to the Father but by the Son, so no one goes to Christ except through his mother.” 6
“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1
The Bible says the Jesus is our Redeemer and never says that Mary fills this role.
Pope Benedict XV declared, “To such extent did Mary suffer and almost die with her suffering and dying Son; to such extent did she surrender her maternal rights over her Son for: man’s salvation . . that we may rightly say she redeemed the human race together with Christ.” 7
The Bible says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)” Galatians 3:13
Jesus never elevated Mary for worship; He praised those who hear and obey the Word of God.
“And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!” But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” Luke 11:27-28
“Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.” But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Luke 8:19-21
God proclaims that Messiah’s one-time sacrifice was sufficient to cover all sins.
The Popes of Rome teach that Messiah must be symbolically sacrificed during the Mass.
‘What is the Mass? The Mass is the sacrifice of the New Law in which Christ, through the ministry of the priest, offers Himself to God in an unbloody manner under the appearances of bread and wine.’
‘The Mass is the sacrifice of Christ offered in a sacramental manner. It means that it is offered, not under its natural appearances, as was on calvary, but under other appearances, the appearances the sacramental signs. The reality is the same but the appearance differ.’
So they are symbolically causing Messiah to be sacrificed over and over, around the world in hundred’s of thousands of Catholic churches, every day.
The scriptures declare, “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Hebrews 10:10
“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;” Hebrews 10:12
The Bible forbids us to bow down to or worship any image, including Mary, Peter and the Pope.
The Catechism removed God’s second commandment which forbids idol worship, and split the tenth commandment in two, to fill the gap.
“You shall not make idols for yourselves; neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves; nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 26:1
“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God.” Exodus 20:4,5
The Bible declares that the Queen of Heaven incites God’s anger. Worshiping Mary and praying to Mary represents idol worship.
Pope John Paul II said, “Preserved free from all guilt of original sin, the Immaculate Virgin was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory upon the completion of her earthly sojourn. She was exalted by the Lord as Queen of the Universe…For the Mother of Christ is glorified as ‘Queen of the Universe‘.” 8
“The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.” Jeremiah 7:18
God tells us that salvation is by faith in Jesus’ blood sacrifice as the spotless Lamb of God; and that it is not earned by good works.
Pope Leo XIII said, “O Virgin most holy, none abounds in the knowledge of God except through thee; none, O Mother of God, obtains salvation except through thee, none receives a gift from the throne of mercy except through thee.” 9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
In Matthew 26:26, when Jesus blessed the bread and broke it and said “Take, eat; this is My body,” He was not saying that the Communion bread (Eucharist wafer) becomes His literal body.
He is symbolically saying that we need to eat the Word of God, we need to read the words of Jesus in the Bible to be fed, for Jesus is the Word that became flesh, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
He is symbolically saying that we need to come to Him and believe in Him alone for our salvation, “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.“‘ John 6:35
He is telling us to humbly, thankfully remember His dying love for us; that He came in the flesh to suffer on our behalf on the cross of Calvary, so that we could have forgiveness of our sins, and all of His righteousness and blessings would be bestowed upon us.
The Bible never says that Jesus needs to be continually sacrificed in a Mass ceremony. Rather it says that Jesus one-time sacrifice on the cross was sufficient for all sin.
“By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Hebrews 10:10
The Bible says that we should go to Jesus our High Priest to confess our sins for forgiveness, not a priest.
Pope John Paul II said, “Don’t go to God for forgiveness of sins: come to me.” 10
“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” Hebrews 2:17
“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.” Hebrews 4:14
The Bible says that Jesus is our High Priest, not a Catholic Priest or the Pope.
“The priest has the power of the keys, or the power of delivering sinners from Hell, of making them worthy of Paradise, and of changing them from the slaves of Satan into the children of God. And God Himself is obliged to abide by the judgment of His priests, and either not to pardon or to pardon…” 11
“But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.” Hebrews 7:24-27
The Bible never says that Jesus gave His authority to Peter, to any priest, or the Pope. Jesus has reigned over His church from beginning to end.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8
Here’s some other things that the Roman Catholic Church promotes that are not in the Word of God.
No exalted positions of the Pope or Cardinals. No prayers to Mary or the saints. No monks or nuns. No required celibacy for Priests. No statues.
The Catholic version of the Ten Commandments is missing the 2nd commandment about not making graven images; and they split the 10th commandment into two.
They ignored Exodus 20:4-5, and left off Deuteronomy 5:8 “Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me”

We pray that you have eyes to see that the words of the Papacy do not line up with the Word of God.
On the day of judgment, you will stand before the Holy God, and you will account for your obedience to His Holy Word.
You may be thinking that Pope Francis I isn’t saying these things, so it doesn’t matter.
But Papal statements, known as Papal Bulls and ex cathedra statements, remain the stance of the Roman Catholic Church, until a Pope retracts it. They are like a law in the U.S. If a President enacts a law, it’s the rule of the land until another President gets the law overturned.
So if a previous Pope proclaimed it and the Roman Catholic Church hasn’t issued a retraction, then it is still their official stance. They have not apologized for any of these statements, nor have they retracted them.
Are you going to trust and obey His words? Or the words of a man?
Former Catholic Priest Richard Bennett separates truth form fiction, regarding the Scriptural Gospel.
If you’re in the Catholic Church, Jesus has lovingly called you to, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.“ Revelation 18:4
Come out of her and know true salvation, which is by faith in the atoning work of the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus.
Secure your salvation by a direct relationship with Christ Jesus, instead of through men.
- Repent of your former beliefs.
- Repent of your sins against the Lord, who alone is perfect.
- Profess your belief in His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, and his shed blood which confirmed His covenant with you.
- Declare that you desire to have a real relationship with Him.
- Ask Jesus to come into your heart to be your Lord and Savior. Amen!
Start reading the words of God in the book of John, to understand what Jesus really said to you and what He did for you, so that you could have eternal life with Him.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.“

You are speaking for satan. You take the Truth and twist it. I will be very surprised if you post this. You have been decieved. Jesus Christ Founded the Catholic Church. I pray the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to this Truth
Thank you for your comment Sharon 🙂 If you’re interested in truth, I would suggest that you read another study on the website called “Was The Apostle Peter The First Pope?” Here is the link http://romancatholicbeliefs.org/was-the-apostle-peter-the-first-pope/
It will show you that Peter was not in Rome during the time frames that the Catholic Church proclaims that he was the first Pope. And it will show you another Simon (Peter) who was in Rome.
I would also recommend that you look to see how the Popes of Rome fulfill Bible prophecy @ http://christianitybeliefs.org/end-times-deceptions
There is no mistaking who the Bible is talking about. I pray the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to the Truth.
Grace and peace and love to you in Christ’s name, David
In Matt. 16:16-18.
When Jesus spoke to Peter and asked him who did he say that Jesus was, Peter answered ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus then answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
However, the word Jesus used for Peter was “Petros, masc.”, meaning ‘small rock”, confirming to Peter that he would become strong as a “rock”, but Jesus did not stop with that. He added that it was on “this rock”, using a different word for rock, “petra, fem.”, which means “massive rock”, that He would build His Church. So we can see that Jesus was not saying He was going to build His Church on Peter, Petros, but He was saying instead, while making an important distinction by using a different word, petra, fem., that He was no longer referring to Peter (Petros) but now to Himself, the Rock of Our Salvation.
Yes , Jesus did acknowledge before everyone listening that Peter had heard from the Holy Spirit as to “Who Jesus Was”, but not that He would build His Church on the Foundation of Peter. Jesus made it clear He was speaking of a different Rock. He said it would be upon “this petra”, this massive rock, this “Rock of Revelation” that He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God that He would build His Church. He said that it was upon Himself, the Rock of our Salvation and the Revelation of who He is that He would build His Church! It is Jesus and Jesus only who is our Firm Foundation. Not Peter, not a Pope and not the Catholic Church.
The Bible cannot lie!
1 Corinthians 3: New King James Version (NKJV)
11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Jesus never implied that Peter would be the foundation of the Church nor was He “Christening the Catholic Church”, like a Ship ready to make it’s maiden voyage. He was telling us He, Himself, is the Head of the Church and the Foundation of the Church. Period. It is a fact that in the End people will see , if we they don’t already, that no Pope nor the Catholic Church will prevail against Him, no matter how hard they try. Jesus will have His Way!
David, I meant my previous comment as a reply to Sharon Naughton’s comment, instead of to your last comment to her, if it matters. Thanks, Karen
I shutter to think of the awful things that will come out of the Pope’s visit to the US this month, although many will be blindsided by his deception. I was raised Catholic and fortunately was delivered from the clutches and lies, of the RCC when I got Born Again by the Spirit of God, when Jesus came into my heart at age 30. Satan is calling out to those who are ignorant of her/his Devices or who are deceived by her/his lies, to come home to her so she can set up her Kingdom, a global earthly kingdom, that will lead her followers straight to hell, because She tells them they are Catholic and that means they are OK. She is not who she says she is. And soon we will be persecuted for not falling at her Feet. Jesus is our Savior, not the Pope and not the Catholic Church. Beware of the Pope. He speaks with forked tongue.
Jesus Himself established the office of the “papacy.”
Jesus changed Simon-Peter’s name to Kephas (Rock in Aramiac) Kephas was then translated to Petros (masculine) in Greek, because it was not appropriate to call Peter by the feminine form of the name (Petra). Jesus said He’d build His Church upon Kephas (Peter) gave Peter the “Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven” and the legislative authority of “binding and loosing” (“Binding and loosing” are the rabbinical terms for “forbidding & permitting”). Jesus quoted Isaiah 22 as He did this, to make clear His intentions of re-establishing the office of “prime minister” or “royal chamberlain” with Peter. The Jews would have known what Jesus was doing.
Compare Matthew 16:17-19 to Isaiah 22:
(Matthew 16:17-19) And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
(Isaiah 22:19-23) “I will thrust you from your office, and you will be cast down from your station. In that day I will call my servant Eli′akim the son of Hilki′ah, and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your girdle on him, and will commit your authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. And I will fasten him like a peg in a sure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his father’s house.”
Isaiah 22 refers to the office of “royal chamberlain” or “prime minister” to the King of the House of David. The prime minister to the king helped to govern the kingdom and was also in charge of governing the kingdom in the king’s absence. The “prime minister” to the king of the House of David, wore the “keys to the kingdom of David” on his shoulder and had the legislative authority of “closing and shutting” or “binding and loosing”. This office was traditionally carried on by succession. This is exactly the office that Peter was appointed to.
Jesus is our King, descending from David. Jesus is also our Eternal High Priest. The office of “pope” or “vicar of Christ” is really the office of “royal chamberlain” or “prime minister” to or King and Eternal High Priest – Jesus. Jesus is the actual but “invisible” head of the Church, but the pope is the “visible” governing head of Christ’s Church, which is the earthly visible part of the Kingdom of Heaven. The pope’s role is to maintain unity and lead Christ’s flock in truth, until He comes again.
Jesus prayed that His Church would remain one (Jn. 17:21). It is the will of God that His Church remains one. The Church founded by Christ on the rock of St. Peter has remained one for 2000 years. Jesus is the smart man that built His church on a solid foundation of a rock. (Matt. 7:24-25). He knew that his Church would need a visible leader to keep unity and lead His flock in truth until He returns, which is why He established the office of the papacy with St. Peter.
Also, another reason that Jesus changed Simon’s name to Peter (Rock), when He said He would build His Church on Peter, was to indicate the that His Church would be built on a solid foundation that could weather the storms and not ever be destroyed just as He promised. Jesus is fulfilling the prophecy in Daniel 2, that during the Messianic age, God would set up “His Kingdom that will never be destroyed” with a “stone cut from the mountain without hands” and that this “stone” would eventually encompass the earth and grow to be a “massive mountain.” This Messianic Kingdom is in fact the Catholic Church founded by Christ upon the “rock” of St. Peter.
Daniel 2:44-45 “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand for ever just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be hereafter. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”
Matthew 16:18″And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
According to both the prophecy in Daniel 2, and also the promises of Jesus, the Church established by Jesus on St. Peter, would never be destroyed.
Jesus is not the ” fool who built His house on sand.” He built His Kingdom on a solid foundation of a rock, and it has weathered the storms for 2,000 years. In that time, many empires have risen and fallen, but the Church has survived just as Jesus promised, despite the odds and many trials against her.
“and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” – Matthew 7:25
That all sounds nice, but the Popes of Rome clearly fulfill Bible prophecy as the Little Horn of Daniel 7, the Son of Perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2, and the antichrist beast of Revelation 13.
Daniel, Paul and John all described the same thing, the antichrist Popes of Rome rising to power after the Roman Empire collapsed.
Notice the commonality of the prophecies, that the Popes would rise to power, that they would speak against God, and that they would reign for 1,260 years.
After the internal collapse from civil war, famine and pestilence; and after the Roman Empire was attacked by many armies; the last Western Roman Emperor was removed in 476 A.D.
The Little Horn of Daniel describes the Popes, who rose to power after the collapse of the Roman Empire.
Daniel 7:8 “I considered the (10) horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.”
The 10 horns of the 4th beast of Daniel 7 foretold that the Roman Empire would split into 10 civil kingdoms, and that a Little Horn, the Popes of Rome, would rise up among them, and pluck out three of the kingdoms that did not bow down to his authority. They subdued and destroyed three of the ten kingdoms, the Heruli, the Ostrogoths and the Vandals.
Daniel 7:25 “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”
Daniel foretold that the Little Horn, the Popes of Rome would speak against Elohim, and reign for 1,260 years.
The ‘restrainer’ of 2 Thessalonians 2 described the Roman Emperors who restrained the Popes from taking power.
“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” Verse 4
The Roman Emperor was the restrainer, because as long as he was in authority, the Popes could not take power.
Shortly after the last Roman Emperor was removed in 476 A.D., the Son of Perdition, the Popes of Rome, rose to power in 538 A.D. They sit among the followers of Messiah, which is the temple of God, and they proclaimed to be God.
The sea beast of Revelation 13 rose up out of the people groups, out of the 10 civil kingdoms, that were created when the Roman Empire collapsed.
“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.” Verse 5
The Popes were given civil and ecclesiastic power as a church/state, and they took the Emperor’s title of Pontifex Maximus, and the ‘deadly head wound‘ was healed.
John is telling us the same thing as Daniel, that the Popes of Rome would reign for 1,260 years, and speaking blasphemies, proclaiming to be God and to forgive sins.
Revelation 17 tells us that five forms of Roman government, referred to as kings, had passed when John wrote Revelation.
“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.” Verse 3
Here is the same beast as Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 described, with 10 horns.
“And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.” Verses 10-11
The seven kings represent the seven forms of government that existed in the Roman Empire, and the 8th represents the Popes of Rome who took power.
Five had passed. One was at the time, the Emperors of Rome. And one existed during the ‘short space’ between 476, when the last Roman Emperor was removed, and 538, when the Popes of Rome took power.
The antichrist is not just one man, it is a position, like the President of the United States. It has been fulfilled by many Popes.
Messiah said that many would come in my name, and the many Popes proclaim to be the “Vicar of Christ” or the “substitute Christ.”
The Popes reigned during 1,260 years of civil and ecclesiastic power, from 538-1798 A.D., until the Jesuits caused Napoleon’s army to take the Pope captive, removing his civil power.
The Jesuit Generals, the black popes, are the earth beast of Revelation 13, who control the Vatican and the White Pope.
http://christianitybeliefs.org/revelation-timeline-decoded/the-antichrist-sea-beast-of-revelation-13-is-the-popes-of-the-roman-catholic-church/
Does anyone really know who the antichrist is? I would think the antichrist would have to oppose Christianity and denounce Christ, wouldn’t they? Honestly, my guess is no better than any other, but I think a Muslim (or Islam as a whole) might end up being the antichrist. They are anti-Christian, and have the ultimate goal of conquering Christendom, dominating the world and taking over Rome & the Vatican.
The “little horn” is widely understood to be referring to Antiochus Epiphanes, whose name means “God manifest”- the name he took after rising to the throne. He was a Hellenistic Greek king of the Seleucid Empire (175 B.C. – 164 B.C.) and was a great persecutor of the Jews.
None of the popes fit the description of the anti-Christ because none have ever spoken against God or denounced Christ. They have not declared themselves to be “God”. They themselves don’t forgive sins. Catholics don’t believe that the pope, bishops or priests are the actual ones forgiving sins, but rather it is Jesus Christ working through them as “instruments”. This happens to be the way Jesus instituted His sacraments – divine grace imparted through physical means, much in the same way that the invisible God was made visible in flesh. It was Jesus Himself that instituted the sacrament of reconciliation with His appointed ministers. And it must’ve been a big deal, because it’s the only time (other than in Genesis, when God breathed life into Adam) that God breathed His Spirit into men.
(John 20:21-23) Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
Now, we Catholics certainly don’t believe that God is limited to the very sacraments that He Himself instituted in His Church. He can impart His grace to whomever He pleases, whenever He pleases (if need be) outside the sacraments. However, He did establish His Church and institute the sacraments as means of grace and the surest path to salvation.
Like I’ve shown in my previous post, the office of “pope” was established by Jesus, and is indeed Biblical. The title “vicar of Christ” is not meant to imply that the pope is the “substitute” for Christ, but that he acts in His stead. The office of the papacy is really the office of prime minister to our King Jesus. Christ is the actual, but invisible Head of the Church. The “vicar of Christ” is appointed to the office ( a position below Christ) as the “visible” leader – governing Christ’s Kingdom on earth, leading Christ’s flock in truth, & maintaining unity, until the Parousia (when Christ comes again). The pope is actually thought of, and often referred to as the “servant to the servants of God”. And just to be clear, no Catholic has ever “worshiped” the pope.
There are two prophecies about a person called the ‘little horn’, one of them fulfilled by Antiochus Epiphanes, and the other by the Popes of Rome.
Anti means ‘against‘ and ‘in place of‘. The Popes of Rome fulfill both definitions, as their teachings are contrary to Christ’s teachings. They have proclaimed to forgive sins, but only Christ can do that. They proclaim to provide salvation, but only Christ can do that.
Popes have repeatedly claimed to be God. Friend, this can’t be any clearer.
Pope Pius V blasphemed, “The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” (2)
Pope Innocent III said “We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God.” (3)
Pope Leo XIII declared, “We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.” (4)
The Popes claim the title of Vicar of Christ, which means “substitute Christ.”
The word antichrist doesn’t just mean “against Christ“, it means “in place of Christ.”
Pope Boniface VIII said “We declare, assert, define and pronounce to be subject to the Roman Pontiff is to every creature altogether necessary for salvation… I have the authority of the King of Kings. I am all in all, and above all, so that God Himself and I, the Vicar of Christ, have but one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do. What therefore, can you make of me but God?” (5)
Pope Pius IX said, “I alone… am the successor of the apostles, the vicar of Jesus Christ. I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (6)
Pope Pius X declared, “The Pope is not simply the representative of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, he is Jesus Christ Himself, under the veil of the flesh. Does the Pope speak? It is Jesus Christ who is speaking, hence, when anyone speaks of the Pope, it is not necessary to examine but to obey.” (7)
Pope Pius XII said, “…recognize the Holy, Catholic, Roman Church to be the only true Church of Jesus Christ, outside of which neither sanctity nor salvation can be found. Call them to the unity of the one fold, granting them the grace to believe every truth of our holy faith and to submit themselves to the Supreme Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Jesus Christ on earth.” (8)
These blasphemous Papal proclamations oppose what Jesus told us in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Popes proclaim that Mary lived a sinless life and is the co-redeemer of salvation.
She was exalted by the Lord as Queen of the Universe…For the Mother of Christ is glorified as ‘Queen of the Universe‘.” (9)
“The Church… been accustomed to have recourse to that most ready intercessor, her Mother Mary … For as St. Irenaeus says, she ‘has become the cause of salvation for the whole human race.‘” (10)
Your dominion reaches even down into the abyss of hell, and you alone, oh Mary, save us from the hands of Satan.” (11)
Pope Benedict XV declared, “To such extent did Mary suffer and almost die with her suffering and dying Son; to such extent did she surrender her maternal rights over her Son for: man’s salvation . . that we may rightly say she redeemed the human race together with Christ.” (12)
“God has committed to her the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is his will, that we obtain everything through Mary.” (Pope Pius IX: Encycl., Ubi primum, February 2, 1849.) — [p. 12, number 12]
“O Virgin most holy, none abounds in the knowledge of God except through thee; none, O Mother of God, obtains salvation except through thee, none receives a gift from the throne of mercy except through thee.” (Pope Leo XIII: Encycl., Adiutricem populi, September 5, 1895.) — [p. 12, no. 13]
“If it is impossible to separate what God has united, it is also certain that you cannot find Jesus except with Mary and through Mary.” (Pope Pius X: Allocution to the Franciscans, November 12, 1910.) — [p. 14, no. 20]
“Every day, as the Church herself recommends, priests will recite the Holy Rosary, which, by proposing for our meditation the mysteries of the Redeemer, leads us to Jesus through Mary.” (Pope Pius XII: Exhortation, Menti nostri, September 23, 1950) — [p. 14, no. 23]
They proclaim that salvation is ONLY through the Roman Catholic Church.
Pope Francis I said “You cannot find Jesus outside the Church.” (13)
Pope Innocent III declares, “With our hearts we believe and with our lips we confess but one Church, not that of the heretics, but the Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church, outside which we believe that no one is saved.” (14)
Pope Boniface VIII said, “We declare, assert, define and pronounce to be subject to the Roman Pontiff is to every creature altogether necessary for salvation… I have the authority of the King of Kings. I am all in all, and above all, so that God Himself and I, the Vicar of Christ, have but one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do. What therefore, can you make of me but God?” (15)
Pope Pius IX said, “It must be held by faith that outside the Apostolic Roman Church, no one can be saved;” (16)
Pope Clement VI said, “No man outside obedience to the Pope of Rome can ultimately be saved. All who have raised themselves against the faith of the Roman Church, and died in final impenitence have been damned, and gone down to Hell.” (17)
Pope Leo XII said, “We profess that there is no salvation outside the (Catholic) Church. …For the Church is the pillar and ground of the truth. With reference to those words Augustine says: `If any man be outside the Church he will be excluded from the number of sons, and will not have God for Father since he has not the Church for mother.’” (18)
Acts 4:12 confirms that salvation is only through Jesus. “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

These ‘Protestor’s’ are cray cray T, myself, a former ELCA Lutheran, now Catholic, I never heard adversity to the Church from my Lutheran friends, it’s these so-called evangelicals who most outwardly try to tear us down
That’s only because the Lutheran Church has been infiltrated by Jesuits, so that she does not protest against Rome anymore. She is a daughter of the Harlot of Rome. http://revelationtimelinedecoded.com/revelation-17-the-harlot-roman-catholic-church/
thank you Ms Naughton, you are the first person who sees sense and I feel blessed that our Blessed Lord didn’t create all stupid people easily blinded by Satan’s smoke. and Mr David, for a second time, please don’t reference yourself as if you are some sort of authority, please tell me what gives you this complex as an authority on a topic that you obviously don’t know nothing about, and at the time that Petrus was declared head of the Church, he was in Judea, that’s because he was with Christ when he was named head of the earthly Church by Christ. Peter was then arrested by the Romans for being a Christian, taken to Rome in which he started acting as the full head of the Church, writing letters in his prison cell before he was executed, please, I implore of you David, in filial charity, please learn your history
Yours in Christ
Kynan
Dear Kynan,
Throughout all the comments, no one has called anyone here “stupid” and your whole passage started with that – while David has spent so much on the Word and you yourself devote your time in hating others who oppose to your view.
Can I ask you, if you consider yourself a Christian – what is our goal here in discussions? Is to build up the Body for His glory.
And even if you do believe you are speaking the “truth”, Ephesians 4 clearly says, speaks the truth in love.
While you don’t really show any ideas of your “truth”, I see no love also.
You can probably guess how both believers and non-believers feel by seeing your fruits. If you want to as a Catholic witness to outsiders, your fruit is doing damage. If you consider other Christians as your brothers and sisters, you are hurting them also.
Also in Christ.
K.
Jesus said to worship the Lord your God and serve him only… (not Mary, not the Pope).
If you believe Roman Catholicism is the truth and the way…
Can you explain why the Roman Catholic Church have, though events such as the Spanish inquisition, killed many many thousands, threatening them with death and torture I’d they did not renounce Christianity and follow the Roman Catholic values.
Can you please show me where in the a Bible it says kill those who have different values and tortured them in order to try and get them to convert. THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO ISLAMIC DOCTRINE… THERE IS OVERLAP BETWEEN THE TWO (Roman Catholicism and Islam)
Where is the love that is fundamental to Christianity?
Where does it say in the Bible that may is anything more special than a human?
Jesus Christ saves and NO ONE else!
I pray that God will open your eyes to see His truth also.
You worship the Pope and think that he is God. How can you think that God would do this, and if the Pope was actually God, then why does he not know his own Scripture?
Does you know this Pope has said oh video that it is dangerous to have a relationship with Jesus? He speaks lies, how can you before this! Without a with Jesus, WHO IS GOD, you do not have salvation, as that relationship comes through the Holy Spirit. So given that Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Father are all the same person, and jesus died to reconcile us to God, why would He do this if it was dangerous?
How can having a with Jesus be dangerous (meaning a bad thing to be avoided) when He is Holy?
We Catholics worship God alone donna, but we do (and we should) ask Mary and the Pope, all the angels and saints, and our brethren, to intercede in prayer for us
Todd, please show me where in the Scriptures is tells us to pray to Mary, angels and saints.
thank you so much for this wonderful page full of truth and interesting facts!
Thank you for your comment Oscar 🙂 I’m blessed to know that the page has benefited you! Keep learning and growing in the grace of our Savior. David
This says it all!
Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
Rom 14:7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
Rom 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
Rom 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
Rom 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Rom 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Rom 14:15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
Rom 14:16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Rom 14:18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Rom 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Rom 14:20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
Rom 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
Rom 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
TAKE CARE NOT TO BITE AND DEVOUR ONE ANOTHER! GRACE!
